Debt Collector Calls for Debt Collection Reform

I was recently browsing the National Association for Consumer Bankruptcy Lawyers website when I came across an interesting article.
The title was CFPB Needs a Rule to Regulate Debt Collection.

Naturally I assumed the writer would be a consumer advocate of some kind.

To my surprise, the article is by a founder of a debt collection company. I was eager for a refreshing take on an industry with well publicized troubles, but I should have known better.

The article asks for clarity from the CFPB on what is acceptable in order to protect debt collectors with consumers as an after thought. Nonetheless, well thoughout rules from the CFPB with consumer input could help alleviate the debt collection problem.

I sure hope the CFPB is listening.
