Millions for Lead Paint Issues

HUD Awards $4 Million to Baltimore City

In the past week, the Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded Baltimore City a $4 million grant to combat lead paint poisoning. The money will be spent on screenings and lead paint abatematement across the city.

It is shocking that despite lead paint poisoning being such a predominant issue since the 1970s approximately 3200 children in Baltimore will have some level of poisoning. Across the country that number balloons to half a million! Hopefully, the city will put the funding into good use.
